Virtual Race Information

For the virtual race, we will have packet pick up in Florence/Dunes City on race weekend for those who would like to do their virtual race on the normal course from Honeyman State Park. We will not be allowed to host any activities in the park or place course markings, however if you wish to go do your virtual event on the usual race course it is open to the public. If you would prefer to have your packet mailed, just let us know.

When doing a virtual triathlon, you swim, bike and run on the course of your choice. The distances are:
  • Sprint Tri: 750 meter swim | 10.5 mile bike | 3.1 mile run
  • Sprint Du: 10.5 mile bike | 3.1 mile run
  • Sprint AquaBike: 750 meter swim | 10.5 mile bike
  • Sprint Paddle Tri: 750 meter paddle | 10.5 mile bike | 3.1 mile run
  • Olympic Tri: 1500 meter swim | 40 kilometer bike  | 10 kilometer run
  • Olympic Du: 40 kilometer bike  | 10 kilometer run
  • Olympic AquaBike: 1500 meter swim | 40 kilometer bike
  • Olympic Paddle Tri: 1500 meter paddle | 40 kilometer bike  | 10 kilometer run

Swim/Paddle: This may be a lake, river, ocean, pool... any body of water you choose.
T1: This time does not count. You can take your time getting from wherever you swim to wherever you can safely bike.
Bike: You pick the course or trainer. We recommend you choose a safe route with very few intersections if possible. When "racing" a virtual race, you need to stop at lights and stop signs just as you would on a training ride. Trainers are also an option for the bike portion. We have a category for this.
T2: This transition time counts!
Run: As with the bike, you pick your run course. The same recommendations apply here as with the bike and treadmills are an option.

Once you complete your race, you report your times to us and we post them on the results website. When you report your times, we will ask for you to verify your distance and time via GPS data or other evidence that you did what you say you did. This is to keep it fair for all competitors. If you do not have a way to track your exercise and still want to be competitive, please let us know and we will do our best to come up with a solution. More instructions on how to report your times will be sent your way as the race gets closer.
